BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Up one levelNANOIMMUNOTECH, an awarded Nanobiotechnology startup, with a promising strategic plan, and proprietary technology, located in Vigo and Zaragoza (Spain), is looking for a BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER for their facilities in Zaragoza.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Business Development Manager manages the identification, evaluation, and development of prospects (pharmaceutical and biotechnology mainly) for new business opportunities. Develops proposals and term sheets for prospects and manages the day-to-day aspects of closing, including the utilization of legal counsel, and coordination with other functional areas. Performs market research, analyzes new market opportunities and pursues new business opportunities.
Meets or exceed market penetration and sales targets objectives.
Organizes, tracks, documents and reports on the status of all prospects
in the business development pipeline. Participates in the development
and execution of a comprehensive marketing strategy, including sales
and presentation materials, marketing communications, and industry
trade shows and conferences. Also participates in the development of
strategic partnerships, joint ventures and alliances, as well as
technology and intellectual licensing opportunities, with industry,
academia and government agencies.
The Business Development Manager will manage complex sales situations
including single departmental sales, multi-departmental sales and often
multi-locations sales. Daily activities include, lead generation,
product and PowerPoint presentations, quote generation, forecasting and
the reporting of activities, among others.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
Requires Science Degree (biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences, life sciences, cell culture, biochemistry or equivalent.), MBA is strongly preferred, with a minimum of 8 years experience in selling, networking, and negotiating contracts with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies at the executive level, specifically within the drug discovery and development areas.
Upstream Business Developer skills:
- Strong English and Spanish communication (verbal/written). Additional languages will be appreciated.
- Strong business acumen, interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills are required.
- Strong key account management experience with the ability to build relationships at a strategic level.
- Demonstrates outstanding project management skills.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to leverage decisions at a high level.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Proficient in the development & tracking of quarterly and six month rolling forecasts.
