Advanced Technologies for an Ageing Population
Up one levelDemographic changes place an ever-increasing pressure on healthcare systems that are already under severe financial pressure and an increased incidence of diseases and conditions associated with old age.
This places a two-fold challenge on advanced technologies to provide both improved treatments for conditions associated with ageing and to contribute to a reduction in the overall costs of healthcare. But is this possible?
In this highly topical and important Conference, to be held in the vibrant city of Glasgow, the Institute of Nanotechnology brings together an international panel of expert speakers who will examine these challenges in several themes across two days. The first day of the Conference will examine some of the medical challenges, focusing particularly on new approaches to diagnosing and treating degenerative diseases. The second day will focus on a range of new assistive technologies as well as analysing demographic trends and examining ethical issues and challenges.
