EuroNanoForum 2009

The EuroNanoForum 2009 is organized by the Technology Centre of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic with the support of the European Commission under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic as an official event of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union Following the successful EuroNanoForum 2003 (Trieste), EuroNanoForum 2005 (Edinburgh) and EuroNanoForum 2007 (Düsseldorf) the EuroNanoForum 2009 will showcase state of the art developments in nanosciences and nanotechnology and bring together excellent scientists with leading researchers, policymakers, investors and representatives from industry as well as civil society, fostering networking and knowledge transfer in Europe. Involving broad areas of nanotechnology research and development as well as its applications the Forum will create rather unique opportunity for researchers and industrial experts coming from diverse fields of science and technology to meet discuss and investigate new areas for mutual co-operation.

Focusing on „Nanotechnology for sustainable economy” the EuroNanoForum 2009 will help to address several acute issues underlining sustainable development of the European society and industry, such as need for reduction in carbon emissions and fossil fuels dependence, substantial increase in energy and material production sustainability and efficiency, pollution control, clean water management and sustainable quality of life of the European citizen, through application of nanotechnology.
