Successful Proposers’ Day and Partnering Event on Nanomedicine in Berlin
Up one levelThe ETP Nanomedicine organised a very succesfull proposers day and partnering event targeting Nanomedicine research in Berlin on 12th April 2010.
During this full day event more than 80 participants from across Europe took the chance to get together and to exchange ideas for future common proposals in the framework of several relevant European calls (FP7 and EuroNanoMed ERANet) in 2010.
With more than 40 short presentations from research and industry, the core topics of Nanomedicine - Nanodiagnostics, Nanopharmaceutics and Regenerative Medicine - as well as further important topics such as new materials and enabling technologies for Nanomedicine applications were addressed .
This event provided a very powerful platform for community building, networking, initiation of new project ideas and constituting consortia for new common project proposals.
General considerations
Participants expressed their strong support to the ETPN's strategy to bring the community closer together to help building a European competitive advantage in Nanomedicine and to succesfully preparing novel application and patient oriented research projects.
In particular the importance of translational research for Nanomedicine was highlighted. Here all stakeholders were called to act together to make sure research results are consequently transformed into marketable products.
Related to this general consideration, the need to implement the "open innovation" concept for Nanomedicine R&D has been stated many times.
